#60 - Merging Point Layers

Have you ever imported point data in the past on separate layers? Have you ever wanted to merge this data on to one layer? Farm Works X2 makes it easy. Simply select the two files under your “Job” tab and select Merge.

#61 Applying Harvest Filter after Imported Yield Data

The Harvest Filter can still be applied after a yield map has been imported. Simply select the Filter button when a yield map is displayed and make the desired changes.

#62 Supply Inputs Database Included

A supply inputs database ( AgriDNA-Basic) will now be included on all updates and new product sold for 2006-2007. AgriDNA is a revolutionary service designed to provide today’s agricultural dealers, crop advisors, and growers with an efficient way to download (via Internet) standardized chemical, seed, fertilizer, and general production practice information into Farm Trac and Site Pro.   AgriDNA allows Farm Works users to easily download all of their supplies so they don't have to enter important labeling information, such as EPA numbers, manufacturer, formulation, and more.  What's best is AgriDNA is backed up by a professional chemical database company (Chemical Data Management Systems Inc. aka CDMS), which gives you the piece of mind in knowing that if the EPA ever comes knocking at your door, that you'll have the most up to date chemical details as required by law.

#63 Weather and Field Conditions

Weather and field conditions can now be entered for any farming action in Farm Trac. In previous versions of Farm Works, weather and field conditions could only be entered when applying restricted chemicals to a field. As the demand increases for better records on fertilizer application, such as manure, Farm Trac will now be able to handle it for any input.

#64 Discrete Legends

The Discrete Legend in the “Edit Legends” area is a new handy feature for assigning a color to a single value. This is especially nice when you have a map (such as a variable rate application map) and want to designate a color for each rate.

#65 Customizing Decimal Location on Numeric Layers

You can now designate the number of decimal places on numeric layers. This is especially important when printing or viewing maps of soil samples.

#66 Variable Rate Maps are tied to Planned Field Operations

Feature #48 mentions a new prescription map generator tool for developing application maps. To expand this feature, Farm Works X2 will take this map and allow you to integrate a planned job operation. Once completed the job can be synchronized with Trac Mate/Site Mate with one step. By selecting the planned job from the “Unfinished Job/Workorders” list, the variable rate map created for the same field will appear too. Thus reducing the number of steps in the field.

The following image shows an example of entering planning records to a prescription map. Simply select the file from the “Job” tab and choose Properties.

Now select the Add menu and choose Input. Here you can add more supplies, equipment, or labor to your planned farming operation.

When your supplies, equipment, and labor have been added to the variable rate map, simply select Trac Mate to export to the field device. The planned operation with now link with the variable rate map and download to the Trac Mate/Site Mate software.

#67 Additional Details for Farm Funds Vendors & Customers

More detail can be entered for each vendor or customer in Farm Funds.
This is a screen shot version 11 and prior.

Here is Farm Works X2. Such additional detail includes Business, Job Title, up to 6 phone numbers, e-mail, and website address.

#68 Updated Road and Waterway Data (Tiger Data)

Farm Works X2 revamped how road and waterway data is imported and displayed on the screen. If using Farm Site or Site Pro, users will only have one step for downloading local road and waterway maps into their project. Simply select the state and county or counties from the drop down list.

Once you select the OK button the layers will download from the Internet and appear in the Farm/Field/Job Tree. Once displayed on the screen, users can view road and waterway names on each layer. The road and waterway data has also been updated to 2004, which is another improvement from prior versions. The image below displays the roads (red color) and waterways (blue color) with road names appearing on the map.

#69 Planning Summary Report Includes More Costs

When entering planning operations in Farm Works X2, a cost can now be assigned to equipment and personnel. This was not the case in prior version of Farm Works. By entering a projected cost on equipment and personnel, the program will generate a better-projected cost for the field when printing a “Planned Summary Report”.

#70 New Site Mate Button Layout

Site Mate has a new look on the Job tab. In order to quickly open an existing scouting file, an “Open” button is located next to the “New Scouting Job” button. Simply select “Open” and choose the file from the storage card or main memory.

#71 Fat Finger Keyboard in Site Mate

The “Mate” programs have a new fat finger keyboard for entering text. No need to use a stylus with these buttons, the fat finger format is a quick method for entering text on-the-go.

#72 Larger Buttons in Farm Site Mate

Farm Works listened to customer suggestions and enlarged the important buttons in Site Mate that are used the most.  This includes the Start, Stop and Log buttons.

#73 Farm Site Mate has a "Flags" Button

Have you ever been in the middle of making a map (such as a coverage or boundary map) and wanted the ability to mark a flag on-the-go?  Maybe it was a rock or broken tile that you wanted to find again.  With Site Mate version 12, the map tab has a "Flags" button that appears for mapping those trouble spots without stopping your log file.  Whenever you hit this button, Site Mate will map a point in the background.  The point will be displayed as a red dot and will be included with the map files that are logged.

#74 Easier Navigation Between the "Tabs" in the Mate Programs

Navigating between Site Mate, Trac Mate, and Guide Mate on a Pocket PC just became easier in version 12.  Version 12 has changed the layout of these tabs so all of them appear on the same screen.

#75 Site Mate VRA includes a Rate Tab

It has been requested that many users did not want to view the "Map" tab when viewing the target and applied rates.  The rates that appear on the "Map" tab are fairly small, especially when using a Pocket PC.  Site Mate VRA version 12 now has a "Rate" tab for viewing the target and applied rates that fill the entire screen.  These are easier to see and the buttons for Go, Stop, and Setup are much bigger.

#76 Guide Mate Displays Target/Prescription Rate and As-Applied Rate

When you use Guide Mate in conjunction with Site Mate VRA, the Guidance tab in Guide Mate will now display the Target/Prescription Rate that is being sent to a controller along with the As-Applied Rate.

#77 Updated Payroll, W-2 and 1099

Updated Payroll, W-2 and 1099 - Farm Works has updated the payroll calculating and reporting as well as the 1099 & W-2 reporting features.  Changes to these areas include:
  • When you add 1099s to the list to print,  you will have the option to save them so they do not have to be reloaded the next time you go into the box.
  • When printing 1099s on plain paper, you have the option to print just a few 1099s as opposed to printing all.
  • State IDs get filled in for 1099s.
  • Updated W-2 Magnetic Media filing to match updated requirements from the IRS.
  • Support for updated W-2 forms from the IRS
  • Support for 2006 Federal, FICA and Medicare Tax Tables
