Montana Farmer Helping Other Farmers
October 18, 2013 - Mitch Konen of Fairfield, MT sells and services Farm Works Software, which is a program designed to help producers handle the paperwork associated with agriculture. It can track costs and markets and allow producers to build a ledger as detailed as they want. It also has the ability to map fields and flag points of interest in those fields.

Producers can record soil and yield data, crop input job operations, chemical applications, track water management and surface drainage, record livestock data, and print off dozens of customized reports.

“I can input every dime, nickel and penny and allocate it where I want – to equipment, acreage, people, an enterprise of some kind, or somewhere else,” Mitch said. “Then I can review that data and know my operational and enterprise costs right down to the exact acre and bushel.”

Video: Managing Data from the iPad
August 30, 2013 - Jon Bryson of Indy Family Farms explains how Trimble's Connected Farm™ solution improves their decision making process by receiving data from the field in real time. Data zapped from the field to the office without USB flash drives not only saves them time, but also increases their efficiency. The farm also uses iPad tablets so that they can easily share their information with other operators, allowing them to react quicker to unexpected problems during field operations. / Other / News / Connected Farm / IFF-Jon-Image.jpg

Video: Managing Data from the Tractor
August 30, 2013 - Aaron Richards of Indy Family Farms utilizes Trimble's Connected Farm™ solution for planting and applying nitrogen on corn. Connected Farm has simplified data management from the field by transferring data wirelessly between tractors and office. The farm also uses automated steering to reduce driver fatigue and increase safety which is important when multiple operators are in the same field or covering large amounts of acreage at all times of the day. / Other / News / Connected Farm / IFF-Aaron-Image.jpg
