I believe so. I had another customer that we open the account register. Changed the multiple year date range just to the current year. Closed the Account Register and Farm Works. Went into the Windows Temp Directory and deleted all temp files that we could. Opened Farm Works and Account Register and it opens immediately. Here are the steps to follow:
1. From FW open the Account Register.
2. Click on the Date Range button (calendar)
3. Make the date range to start with just the current year accounting. If your check register is quite large, you may want to consider even a smaller date range (but would include any check dates that have not cleared yet). Click OK.
4. Close the Account Reg and Farm Works.
5. For Windows XP and lower, click on the Start button and select Run. Windows Vista and higher go to Start-Programs=Accessories-Run.
6. In the Open box from the Run dialog screen type this: %temp% and click OK.
7. Delete all the files you can. Remember these are only temp files and if the computer is using it will not allow you to delete. Highlight the files and click the Delete button on keyboard.
8. After all files have been remove, close the Windows Temp. Open FW again and same project. Open the Account Register to verify it opens faster.
