Removing labels (1 reply)

I have just recently upgraded my Farm Works Office. I have just found in one of my projects that I have labels that I can not remove. The labels all pertain to the year 2008. The label gives the year, crop and acreage. I can high light the crop and year in the left hand tree, then high light the field, right click opening the drop down box, but the only option is to "Add Label". I can high light another year and add that label on top of the 2008 label and then re right click and remove that label. I have tried working my way up the the tree high lighting the field, the farm and then the client but right clicks only have "Add Label". This problem only pertains to a few of the fields with one certain crop, and not all fields with that crop for 2008. How do I remove these labels? When I try to print maps these labels are showing up.

Thank you
Howard

(Excuse the spelling or wrong use of words).
I have had no problem importing data from my GS2 on a 2600 ( sprayer ) . For that I just browse to Folder RCD, open it and click on setup.fds. And it populates the page with applications and field to import.
If I use apex and export data as .shp or .csv files, and then import to FW using generic text or shape, i get some of the info I want. What I am not getting is "flags" .
I want flags. Flags , be it rocks to pick or problem areas to come back to, are what i would like to export to connect on my iphone. I using FW - 2013.06.551 updates are - Greenstar 1 Data Driver 3.10.0.35 Greenstar 2 and 3 Data Driver 4.3.1.5 and FODM runtime 3.11.0.9 I tried reinstalling greenstar 2 and 3 data driver and FODM runtime. no go
I also don't get flags or products on GS2 but that I can live with. One problem at a time
I have exported Shp. VRA to the GS3. Great instructions by the way. Thanks.
Been using farmworks since 2002. Its a very good program.
Maps not lining up (6 replies)

This has me confused. We recorded an AB line and coverage map during planting. We used an FMX to autosteer the planter. RTK correction was provided via CORS. The guideline was imported into ArcGIS to create a fishnet. File was converted from lat/lon to state plane. The fishnet was used to define the 168 treatment cells in the project. A parallel line was produced from the guideline to be the reference line for the fishnet. Finished product brought back into Farm Works to create an application map. Imported as background in state plane. Application job was exported as shapefile and loaded into CFX 750. 750 also used CORS RTK correction. Now for the problem; when we entered the field, our treatments were 60 inches off. I suspect an error in transformation but I am not sure where. Any suggestions?

downloads from FMX to Farmworks (5 replies)

I am having recurring issues downloading planting jobs from my 2 FMX monitors into Farmworks software. This has been a problem for 3 years and no one seems to want to own the problem. Farmworks support says it is a Trimble problem but I can't get to Trimble support except through my dealer and he is too busy with installs and other issues to deal with this. The problem is there is no start and stop time on some of the downloaded planting jobs and yet some jobs have that information in the download. On jobs that show no start and stop time the start and stop date becomes the date the download occurs and not the actual planting date. When the start and stop time is in the download the start and stop date comes through as the actual date the field was planted. The inconsistency is not monitor specific. The one thing that is consistent in the job properties from both monitors is that I get the variety of seed planted and the acres of that variety from both monitors. The date the job is started and completed is important information to record as I transfer planting data to my insurance company through Farmworks and other obvious reasons. I'm interested if anyone else is seeing the same problem coming from the FMX monitors. In the past I have used a USB drive to tranfer information, This year we are using Connected Farm and still seeing the same download issues as in the past. I'm just hoping someone can give me some answers.

removing circle (5 replies)

This is kind of a complicated issue so I will try to explain myself as best I can.

We have a half section of ground that currently has 2 pivots/circles on it. Of the acres 118.6 acres are in the circle on the west quarter and 118.8 acres are in the circle on the east quarter. The east circle is divided in two with 60.4 in a separate field and 58.4 in another field. The remainder of the acres are dryland. We have 25.8 acres that are a separate field on the west side of the west circle, 21.1 acres that are a separate field on the east side of the east circle and 3.7 acres that are a separate field on the west side of the east circle. There is 55.9 acres that are located between the two circles and are one field. There is also some acres on the east quarter that are grass and not farmed.

We are removing the east pivot and the entire east quarter will be farmed as dryland. We have not decided how we will be splitting the field but are not worried about the yet. Our dilemma is what is the best way to combine the two irrigated halves of the east circle with the 21.1 and 3.7 acres and a portion of the 55.9 acres. We basically want to create a new field with no history. When we divide some of the 55.9 acres off we want that history to temporarily go to the east side and then it will basically be forgotten when the new field is formed. We need some of the history to stay with the acres that will become a smaller version of the 55.9 acres.

We will have a different tenant on the east quarter - one that does not have any history there - but the west quarter landlord and tenant relationship will remain the same.

Thanks - Lynda

Is this new guidance line going to work? (7 replies)

Hi, I have a very particular field which is crooked from every side. I created a boundary line with an Infill AB line in the tractor but now I'd like to create a curve line. I want my line to follow the boundary line on the longest side of the field. Here is what I did on farm works:

- Offset my boundary line 15' inside my boundary (30' PLanter)
- Deleted all the points that aren't beside the longest part of my field (basically the rest of my new boundary
- Took my B point and moved it from the A point to the end of where I want my new curve line to stop.
- so now it doesn't look like a boundary anymore but a curve line

Kinda hard to explain but I hope it's somewhat clear :-)

How is the FM 1000 going to manage that line? Will I be able to use that new line to plant the whole field after I planted my boundary? Is it still going to see it as a boundary and I will have to enter that I want to make 35 boundary contours in the line setup screen?

Thanks!

When the enterprise is current, I can highlight multiple jobs and combine them. Seems like I can't go back and do that once the enterprise is no longer current. Am I missing something? There are several 2012 yield maps that I forgot to combine that I really need to fix.

Then set up and account, and did a boundary on a field. When I finished, I sent it to my trimble account. I got a verification e-mail that my data was available. How do I get that info into the mapping program?
