Hello, We've upgraded our office network & included a network file & app server running Windows 2008 Foundation Server 64bit. We've installed our version of Farmworks, v2011.04.477 & download and installed the upgrade of v2011.09.490, but the application is not opening. We've set the compability options to Windows XP sp3 & "Run as Administrator" to no avail. 1. Go to the Control Panel then select BDE Administrator.
2. Select Configuration -> Drivers -> Native -> then Paradox.
3. On the right side, you will see a few lines of which the first one is NET DIR. The Data to the right of it will no doubt show C:\
On the 'far' right side of that line will be a button that will allow you to edit that line. You may have to hover your mouse over it to see it. Click on the button which will bring up an Explorer type of window. Select the folder where Farm Works is installed. This will then replace the C:\ to C:\farmproj. Mine is on my local drive so you will need to browse and select the folder where FW is installed.
4. Once the above is complete, close out of the BDE Administrator. Now try to enter FW again.

Let me know if this does not resolve it.

I had to run the installer for each user on our server (pointing it at the same location each time for a common database).

As a side note, it is really NOT a good idea to have more than one person using Farm Works at the same time. So don't think that your server install will let you do that.

Right click on my computer, choose properties

Click the 'settings' button under performance options on the advanced tab.

Under 'data execution protection' click the 'add' button, and add the farmwork.exe from your program directory.

Alternatively, if you install Farm Works to a drive other than the system (C:) drive, you should not have the problem either.

Thank you for your assistance. I made the changes you suggested by no luck. When I double-click the .exe shortcut, it tries to open & nothing happens. The login used during the installation was administrator.
