Hi Guys I have a new Farm Stock ONLY customer who is having difficulties getting her database up and running. Her operating system is XP. The software apparently installed and registered correctly but when she tries to create a new animal type, it comes up with "unable to create Species Directory" . Any suggestions? Thanks. Problem solved. She was trying to enter a name that was too long. When she changed "Large Black Pigs" to "Pigs" it worked.

I have been testing here with Farm Stock only on Windows XP and have been unable to duplicate the error message that your customer is getting.
Make sure that when entering in the Species Name that they are using just a letter number combination, no commas or other characters.

The customer is trying to set up Animal type of Hogs, but I am not sure what name she is giving it.

I spoke to her yesterday and she says that she can set up other animal types (cows) without a problem.

What name and type is the customer selecting for the Species?
Verify that the program has been registered, I would close Farm Stock, and restart the computer to make sure that all programs have been shut down. Then once the computer is back up and running try to open Farm Stock, does it let them in or are they prompted for registration?
