Recording a Trac Mate/ Site Mate Job with Multiple Seed Varieties

To create a map where multiple seed varieties are used, complete the following steps:

  1. Open Trac Mate/Site Mate . On the Job Tab, tap "Trac Mate Job".
  2. Select the Field, Crop and Operation Type from the drop down lists. Tap OK.
  3. In the Job Setup window, choose the people, equipment and supplies. (Include only the supplies that you're starting with.) Tap OK.
  4. The “Supply Setup” screen will appear to enter the Initial Quantity and Expected Rate. Tap OK.
  5. The “Application Width” screen will appear to enter the width of the implement. Tap OK.
  6. The GPS Coordinates should be displayed at the bottom of the screen. This is necessary to create the variety map.
  7. Select the "Go" button to start planting.
  8. The program will begin counting acres as a map is created. Starting and stopping the log each time the planter is raised will give the most accurate acre count. *
  9. When changing varieties, select Stop and then Change. In the “Change Operation” window the acres covered should be filled in for you.
  10. Highlight the variety and tap “Delete” (X) to remove the current variety. The “Units Charged” window will appear with the calculated usage. You may overwrite if necessary. Tap OK.
  11. Highlight the distributor and select the “Supply” button to add the new variety. Repeat Step 4 to enter Quantities and Rates. Tap OK.
  12. Select GO again. To change varieties again, repeat Steps 9-12.
  13. When the job is done, select FINISH. In the “Job Finish” window, select FINISHED and tap OK.
  14. The area for the last variety as well as the total area will be displayed. Changes can be made or tap OK to accept. The “Units Charged” window will be displayed for verification of quantities used.

After synchronization with the desktop, the "Operations Report" (History - Operations - Maintenance) will give a summary of the job that includes the number of bags and planting rate along with a map that shows where each variety is planted. In Operations Maintenance, highlight the farming operation for the planting. The list may be refined by using the filters on the left. Select the PRINT button to print a preview of the report. Select the Printer icon to print a hard copy or the Export button to select a format such as Excel, CSV, PDF, etc.
