News Office Field Ordering Support About Us

Dispatch includes all the features of Sync (wireless data transfer) with additional tools for vehicle tracking.  Utilize cellular technology to manage a fleet of applicators, tender trucks, harvesters, and other equipment.

The software can be used by custom applicators, fertilizer dealers, co-ops and even large farms.  As an organization gets bigger and territories expand, it gets tougher and tougher to keep track of where equipment is being used.  Additionally, dispatching work-orders and getting completed job information can be challenging (at best) when faced with equipment and personnel who are located far from the main office.  Dispatch simlifies this process by making it easy to keep track of equipment and personnel.  What's more, the software makes it easy to instantly dispatch a new work-order to the appropriate person.  It also ensures that completed job information is transmitted to the office upon completion of the job to speed up the process of billing and generating reports.

Requirements:

  • Trac and Site
  • Desktop Computer with Internet and Static IP
  • Mobile device with wireless internet connection
Includes:
  • Pocket PC Phones
  • Laptop or Other device with wireless modem

  • Dispatch can work with any number of Mobile Devices.  Mobile Devices can be anything from applicators to harvesters to tender trucks.
  • Each Mobile Device will have some sort of computer such as a ruggedized laptop, tablet PC or PDA phone.  These devices will have some sort of wireless data connection.  This typically consists of a cellular phone connection.  This wireless connection will effectively give the computer an internet connection.
  • Mobile Devices will typically be configured with some soft of GPS receiver so maps can be made and current GPS positions can be transmitted to the home office.
  • The main office will have a desktop computer with an internet connect with a "Static IP" address.  This address repesents the internet address of that computer and will be used so Mobile Devices can talk to this computer.
  • The office computer will have Trac, Site and Dispatch installed on it.
  • Mobile Devices will have the Farm Works "Mate" programs (typically Trac Mate and Site Mate) installed on them.  These software programs are configured so they know the IP address of the office computer.  Each Mobile Device will also be configured with the name that the device is known as.  This could include the name of the operator along with the type of equipment used.
  • When a Mobile Device has GPS and is running the Farm Works "Mate" programs, it will be wirelessly transmitting it's current position to the office computer in the main office.
  • A "dispatcher" in the main office will be able to display a map that shows the location of all of the "Mobile Devices".  This map will be color coded with a legend that shows the name of each mobile device.   This map can be displayed with any other maps that are available which can include road and waterway maps, field boundaries and imagery.
  • Dispatchers can use Trac and Site to generate "Work Orders" for the jobs that need to be performed.  Work Orders can be as simple as listing a field with a product to be applied and the associated rate.  They can also have more details such as Variable Rate Prescription Maps.  Trac and Site will keep track of all of the available work-orders.  These work-orders can be sorted in a number of ways including by Client, Farm, Field, Applicator, Crop and Supply used.
  • At anytime, a dispatcher can select a work order (or group of orders).  He can then right-click and select the "Mobile Device" to send the work-order to.  If an urgent job comes up, the dispatcher can review his map (that includes the locations of all his mobile devices).  He can then determine the most suitable option for completing the job and dispatch the work-order to that operator.
  • Operators in the field can access the work-orders that they have available.  If desired, they can also manually enter new jobs.  When loading a work-order or creating a new job, the operator will always have access to a boundary map for the selected field.  If a VRA application is being performed, the variable rate application map will automatically be performed.  In additition to this, the dispatcher in the office can always see the location of his workers in order to confirm that the operator is working in the correct field.
  • When a job is completed on the Mobile Device, the completed job information (including the product used, quantity and a coverage map) will automatically be transmitted to the office computer.  If the Mobile Device loses it's wireless connection, the data will be saved and will automatically be transmitted to the office when a connection is re-established.
  • The dispatcher in the office can access all completed job data at anytime.  With the click of the mouse this data can be used for invoicing, reporting and other purposes.
