Farm Works Software Update Features
The following is a list of changes that were included in Version 9.20 (released in April 2004) to Version 9.301 (released in August 2004). For a list of changes made in prior
versions, visit the "News"
section at www.farmworks.com. (Exact version changes took effect are listed after the change.)
All Programs:
- Added support for Unicode language files so the desktop software can be translated into languages such as Russian and Chinese. (v9.22)
Farm Trac Plus & Site Pro:
- Changed Synchronization so you can synchronize more than one project
with a single handheld device. (v9.20)
- Field boundaries are now loaded from Farm Trac+ to Farm Trac Mate
& Site Mate via synchronization.(v9.20)
- When synchronizing Farm Trac Mate data, all data will be displayed
in a "Farming" box so users can review the data and make
changes as needed before the records are updated.(v9.20)
- "Planning" data can be exported as "Work Orders"
for use with Farm Trac Mate.(v9.20)
- Notations that are created with Trac Mate and Site Mate will have
an "Op Map" button. When this button is selected, a map
for the notation will be displayed (such as a map that shows where
different seed varieties were planted that corresponds to the planting
note).(v9.20)
- Changed Synchronization of Site Mate data so it looks for files in "My Documents" as well as in the "TMSMData/Scouting" directory. (v9.201)
- Fixed overflow bug if layer name created in sychronization was longer than allowed.(v9.201)
- Fixed a bug where the layer did not color by legend on the Operation report if a layer had been set to display solid color.(v9.201)
- Fixed altitude to be in meters not centimeters. (v9.202)
- When synchronizing with Trac Mate, deleted items or non-distributed supplies, and removed crops from Site Pro are no longer loaded into Trac Mate. (v9.202)
- Added "Planning" features to Site Pro. (v9.206)
- Changed Farm Site Pro so it can now work with Farm Trac Mate. (v9.206)
- Fixed Win98 crash when exiting Farm Trac+ or Site Pro (after synchronizing with a handheld device). (v9.206)
- Add version number to fmain.ini when creating new clients in Site Pro so Client Projects can be restored to Farm Trac and Site without errors. (v9.206)
- Made drop down for list of sync locations longer. (v9.206)
- Removed conversions to kg/hl in Quick Yields for metrics. (v9.206)
- Fixed bug with enter, and exiting generic import dialog alot. (v9.206)
- Fixed bug in Generic Import when importing lines only to area layer, fixed bug selecting a template using NEMA. (v9.206)
- Fixed generic text import to default to "All Files (*.*)" instead of "Text Files (*.txt)" (v9.206)
- Fixed errors when entering farming actions in Site Pro. (v9.206)
- Added Coinage Report for South Africa. (v9.206)
- Changed names of crop's in Farm Site Pro to include crop year (v9.206)
- Fixed job notes not being exported in the work order. (v9.206)
- Added functionality for entering Purchases or Sales as a Gross amount including VAT, then the VAT is calculated for the user. (v9.206)
- Added 'Select All' and 'Select None' buttons to the Chem/Fert/Seed report. (v9.206)
- Legends are automatically created for jobs from Trac Mate based on "regions".(v9.210)
- You can go to the History menu and select "Operations" then "Maintenance". This will give a list of all the operations created with Trac Mate and Site Mate. You can select an operation or group of operations and either display the operation map or print a report that gives a map and summary.(v9.210)
- Fixed problem where if you created changed the crop for an enterprise in Trac Mate (such as changing from Field Prep to a crop), that Farm Trac would have both enterprises.(v9.210)
- Round the rate to the proper number of significant digits in the plan jobs export. (v9.210)
- Fixed Win98 crash when synchronizing with Site Mate / Trac Mate. (v9.210)
- Fixed calculation of yield that did not convert lbs. to kg. properly.(v9.211)
- Changed the Operation report so it calculates area properly. (v9.211)
- Fixed problem where the map of the job on Operation report was sometimes hidden by the main field boundary. (v9.211)
- Fixed import of Trac Mate jobs to correct for Region IDs of 0.(v9.211)
- Fixed the Operation Report where it incorrectly added the unpriced quantity of supplies to total quantity used (when used with Farm Funds). (v9.212)
- Added operation type to work-order file name.(v9.212)
- Changed Operation Report tables so they are set to the proper directory.(v9.212)
- Fixed problem where the Edit/Executing plans dialog did not list the landlord names properly. (v9.212)
- Fixed problems where start and stop times did not come from Trac Mate when synchronizing.(v9.22)
- Fixed crash in synching when a new crop is setup without Funds.(v9.22)
Farm Site & Site Pro:
- Added an option to synchronize "Farm Site Mate" data with
Farm Site or Site Pro (go to the File menu and select Synch Trac Mate).
This allows users to load the raw, Site Mate data directly into Farm
Site or Site Pro (without exporting the data as an ArcView Shape File).
This can also be done directly from a Pocket PC (or a card in a Pocket
PC), so users no longer have to copy files through Windows Explorer.(v9.20)
- Improved speed in Layer Management (V9.207)
- Updated FODD files for John Deere Yield so data from South Africa.(v9.210)
- Fixed problems with yield data being incorrect (in Quick Yields) when in Metrics.(v9.210)
- Added hidden boundary offset calculation to fix logs created by Site Mate versions with problems recording offsets. (v9.210)
- Added columns needed by JD Office converter to the Main Layer Shape file export (fields only). (v9.210)
- Added code to ignore corrupted FGP points by checking the checksum. (v9.210)
- Added code to remove beginning '\' from database columns imported from Site Mate. (v9.210)
- Changed the program to convert altitude from meters to feet if we're using the US measurement system.(v9.210)
- Changed Generic import to list all files instead of text only files in text drop down. (v9.210)
- Allow importing of data points with a GPS Quality of 9 (manual coordinates). (v9.22)
- Added fix for all Region ID zeros that might exist on Site Mate log layers. (v9.22)
- Added export of operation data as an ArcView shape file. (v9.22)
- Initialize layer data table on the polygon being created in average polygons. (v9.22)
- Fixed RDS application prescription file export to handle more than 9 different rates in a single file. (v9.22)
Farm Funds:
- Added new report: GL Activity report (Accounting - General Ledger - Accrual or Cash Reports - GL Activity Report). This report includes total debits & credits and activity for select accounts for any date range. (v9.206)
- Changed General Ledger Detail Report and GL Activity Report so you can change between Cash and Accrual Reports without leaving the dialog box. (v9.206)
- Changed invoices so negative items will display properly. (v9.206)
- Changed the program so it does not export supplies without accounts to Trac Mate when running Funds. (v9.211)
Farm Trac Mate:
- Farm Trac Mate now runs on Pocket PCs, Laptops & Desktops with
Windows 95 and higher and most Windows CE devices.(v9.20)
- Trac Mate is fully integrated with Site Mate so "Operation
Maps" can be created at the same time as Trac Mate data is logged.
- Trac Mate now has a "Project Selection" button so users
can enter records for multiple projects.(v9.20)
- When Trac Mate is used with Site Mate, field boundaries will automatically
be displayed in the background (if data is synchronized from Farm
Trac+, Farm Site Pro or other desktop software that have been designed
to work with this).(v9.20)
- When Trac Mate is used with Site Mate, GPS data is used to compute
the area covered and total product usage.(v9.20)
- Farm Trac Mate can load "Work Orders" that are created
with Farm Trac+, Farm Site Pro or other desktop software programs
that have been designed to work with these. These work orders can
be displayed, modified and completed in the field.(v9.20)
- Farm Trac Mate allows users to enter "product fills" as
they happen so the program can compute product usage. When used with
Farm Site Mate (and GPS), the program will compute remaining product
and the area that can be covered with the product. (v9.20)
- Change supply selection so if the Cancel option is selected, the supply will not be selected.(v9.201)
- Fixed errors for fields that do not have a size. (v9.201)
- Added an option to Delete Projects.(v9.201)
- Do not allow blank supply types or unitsAdded Wait cursors.(v9.201)
- Added a checkmark on Field Conditions so you can tell when they have been entered. (v9.201)
- Changed the "New Job" option so it runs much faster. (v9.203)
- Allow remaining supply quantities to go negativeFixed for VRA controlling. (v9.203)
- Fixed the object gridding to record the sample id. (v9.203)
- Displayed project name now changes when you pick a new project. (v9.203)
- Fixed loading tif files on the desktop version of Site Mate. (v9.205)
- Fixed bug rounding large numbers(v9.205)
- Added cell borders around editable numbers so it is more obvious which values can be edited.(v9.205)
- Changed negative supply remaining to positive supply added, when not using fills. (v9.205)
- Fixed bug where supplies could 'forget' which container they were in during a change. (v9.205)
- If you start up Trac Mate and do not have a project selected, it
prompts for one. (v9.206)
- When you finish a job, the program will now display the total acres
in the field (as well as the acres covered). (v9.210)
- Fixed problems where importing an FOP file would sometimes not bring GPS data along with it (after a farming action was removed and a layer was deleted and the FOP was reimported). (v9.22)
- Change the program so if you complete a job later, it does not take into account the time between when you finished and resumed the job(v9.22).
- Changed the program so that it only automatically computes the quantity used (when the starting and ending quantities are zero and no fills were entered).(v9.22)
- Fixed problem where selecting the Cancel button when finishing would take you back to the main screen with no buttons available. (v9.22)
Farm Site Mate
- Fixed implement switch to work as a Comm port and with GuideMate. (v9.201)
- Fixed crash when logging without control in VRA. (v9.206)
- When you do a "Trac Mate Job" there is now an option to "Use VRA". This allows you to use Site Mate VRA while collecting Trac Mate data. This version is not figuring total product used from the "As Applied Rate". Instead the user still enters an application rate (an average rate) that is used. The next release will get product usage from the controller.(v9.210)
- Site Mate VRA allows loading other background maps.(v9.210)
- Site Mate Scouting now has an "Attribute Type" for "Sample ID". This is used when you create a Template or you assign attributes to a new log file. The program no longer automatically has Sample IDs anytime you do manual logging. This will be a text or numeric value that will automatically increment. (v9.210)
- When starting a VRA Job, you can select "Log Without Control" from the first box that comes up (in the past you had to go through the Advanced VRA Options).(v9.210)
- The "Scouting Jobs" option has a "Background Layers" button for loading ArcView Shape Files and imagery as background maps. You can also now display background layers without starting a log file.(v9.210)
- The GPS Setup box now has a "Quality" tab where you can give the program a minimum GPS Quality to filter by. You can also enter a Maximum HDOP setting and tell the program to filter by honoring the "NMEA Checksum".(v9.210)
- Fixed problems where the Offset feature was not working.(v9.210)
- Changed the program so time is now listed as the number of seconds since January 1, 1970. In prior versions this was the number of seconds since midnight on that day. (v9.22)
- Trac Mate Options are no longer displayed in the Configure tab unless Trac Mate is installed.(v9.22)
Guide Mate:
- Fixed GuideMate progress bars from slowing down loading files (v9.205)
