Farm Works Software® Update Features

The following is a list of some of the major changes that were included in Version 12.17 of our software, which was released May 1, 2007. For a list of X2 features added prior to this visit 60+ Reasons to buy the new Version X2!

We now have a web update available to Version 12.17.308. The update can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. This update is free to all users who are on Version X2 (12) and higher. This update will fully enable the Check for Updates feature so you will be able to use the menu option in the software for future updates, as well as, checking for updated FODM utilities for reading data from and writing data to other programs.

VERSION 12 UPDATE

This update includes a large number of changes and addition. The following is a list of the major changes and additions:

Farm Trac & Site Pro:

  • Added a number of new field reports that can be accessed by clicking on the “Reports” button and selecting “Fields”.
  • Added an “AgriDNA” tab to the Supply Properties box for chemicals. If you use the option to “Include Files” in AgriDNA, the program will now download .pdf files with the labels for the selected chemicals. The AgriDNA tab in the Supply Properties box will display these labels.
  • Changed Job Filters so they get saved when you exit the program and go back in.
  • Changed Job Printing so you can go to the Job tab and select multiple jobs (using the Shift or Ctrl key on your keyboard) and then right-click and select “Print” to print them all.
  • Changed the program so Job Reports (when you right-click on a job and select Print) include maps.
  • Changed Share Crop so you can enter a plan on a share-crop field, then complete the plan, then bill the landlord.
  • Changed Field Records to support field names with up to 40 characters.
  • Fixed Enterprise Statements so they work for users who don’t have Farm Funds.
  • Fixed Job Reports (when you right-click on a job and select Print) so they print the proper rates and other information.
  • Added support for Trac Mate Notes and Scale Tickets.
  • Changed the Farming box so you can enter totals in the Farming box and have them pro-rated to fields based on the size.

Farm Site & Site Pro:

  • Added a “Transparency Slider” in the lower right-hand corner of the Map tab that works on all layers.
  • Added the ability to right-click on a layer in the tree-view and select “Copy”. Then right-click on a field, farm or category and select “Paste”.
  • Added Patterns that can be assigned to Job Types. This can be done by going to the “Resources” menu and selecting “Job Types”. You can then edit each Job Type (such as Harvest) and assign a pattern to it.
  • Added a new section to the Map Tab for the boundary layer. This section allows you to change the way the boundary map is displayed. The options that are available include:
    • Enterprises – You can select a year and see fields colored based on the crop for the selected year.
    • Farms – Boundaries are colored based on what farm they are assigned to.
    • Field Boundaries – All Fields have the same color.
    • Last Job – You can select a year and see fields colored based on the crop for the selected year. They will also have the pattern that was assigned to the last Job (Resources – Job Types) for that year.
    • REI – Allows you to select a date range and see fields that have Restricted Entry (based on REI chemical usage) for that time frame.
  • Added a new drawing tool “Circle Tool Diameter” that allows you to draw a circle starting at the edge of the circle (instead of starting in the center). This tool is available for Boundary and Area layers by clicking on the down-arrow for the “Include Polygon Tool”.
  • Added Mid Point, End Point, Horizontal and Vertical Tools for boundary, area and line layers.
  • Added a merge option so you can hold down the shift or ctrl key on the keyboard and select two adjoining areas/polygons then right-click and select “Merge”.
  • Added support for writing field names, supplies, people, equipment and other information for use with the John Deere Greenstar 1 and Greenstar 2 displays.
  • Added reading data from John Deere Greenstar 1 and Greenstar 2 displays. This includes Field Doc data. When this data is read the program will create a field record along with the map data.
  • Added support for writing Ag Leader MSF files with field names, supplies and other information.
  • Changed the import of Ag Leader As-Applied data so that it will now create a field record that is linked to the map.
  • Added options to read and write Dickey John IntelliAg data.
  • Added support for Micro Trak Yield files.
  • Added options to import Farm Site Mate .fgp files as a boundary or a background layer.
  • Changed display of boundaries so that they always show up. Boundaries that do not meet selection criteria (from the tree-view on the left of the area at the bottom) are displayed as a boundary only.
  • Fixed problems where Creating Sampling Grids sometimes did not create lines or points.
  • Changed Site Pro backups so they include images.
  • Fixed the scrollbar in the Edit Legend box.
  • Added new conductance units of measure decisiemens, millisiemens, and microsemens.

Farm Funds:

  • Changed Employee Setup so deleting employees here will also remove them from the Inputs tree-view on the left.
  • Changed the Account Register so transactions to retired vendors still show the vendor name.
  • Added support for the Quarterly Wage Report and New Hire Report in Payroll.

Farm Stock:

  • Fixed errors in Notation Report.
  • Changed the program so that if you start an operation in Farm Funds and go into Farm Stock, the date from Farm Funds carries over.
