Farm Works Software® Update Features

The following is a list of some of the major changes that were included in Version 12.11 of our software, which was released January 5, 2007. For a list of X2 features added prior to this visit 60+ Reasons to buy the new Version X2!

We now have a web update available to Version 12.11.268. The update can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. This update is free to all users who are on Version X2 (12) and higher. We had hoped that this update would be tied in with the Help menu (with the Check for Updates option), but we ran into a problem. This means that you will need to click on the link below and follow through the update process here. This update will fully enable the Check for Updates feature so you will be able to use the menu option in the software for future updates.

VERSION 12 UPDATE

This update includes a large number of changes and addition. The following is a list of the major changes and additions:

  • Added options to the Help menu to display manuals. For now tutorials may be displayed by running your Farm Works CD or by going to:
    TUTORIALS
  • Added Support for Windows 98 and Windows ME. This is not available via a web update. If you are using a Windows 98 or ME machine, contact Farm Works Software and we will send you a new CD.
  • When printing accounting reports such as the General Ledger Detail Report in Farm Funds, the program will give you a tree similar to the Chart of Accounts for selecting accounts. This makes it easier to select accounts by category.
  • When printing field reports, there is a “tree” that is used for selecting fields and supplies. The tree for fields sorts fields by client (for Site Pro) and farm (for Farm Trac and Site Pro). When doing a report for a supply, supplies are sorted by category (seed, chemical, etc…) and equipment by category (Tractors, Harvestors, etc…)
  • The top “Status Bar” shows the name of the project that you are in.
  • Changed Bank Reconciliation so that numbers are right justified. Also increased the amount of text space so larger vendor names are visible.
  • There have been a number of changes made to the field reports. Among them is the addition of the fertilizer report, separate chemical and supply reports and a Planning Report that includes costs for equipment and personnel.
  • Layers that have text only (such as notes layers) are being converted from past versions. Additionally, general text and labels on any layer will convert from past versions.
  • Added support for share-cropping for Farm Trac users who do not have Farm Funds.
  • Seeds can be assigned to a commodity. The commodity is used for sorting purposes for selection and reporting.
  • Full support for Loupe/RDS Yield import including flags/markers and card formatting.
  • Added “Enterprise Statement – Crops” report for Farm Trac users (without Farm Funds) that shows summary of inputs with costs and total cost per acre and bushel. Also shows sales and profit per bushel harvested.
  • When you set up people in Site Pro they have full properties including address, phone numbers and other details.
  • Crop Summary Report lists all fields, including fields that have never had a crop assigned to them.
  • Structures are listed in the tree view (along with fields) for all users (including Trac users who do not have Farm Funds).
  • Equipment, People and Livestock Notations reports have been added.
  • Changed Yield Import and other areas so deleted fields are not listed.
  • Changed conversions so all vendor details (address, phone, etc..) convert over from past versions.
  • Changed vendor listings in Farm Funds so people are listed last name first.
  • Default displays of names and addresses so delete vendors are hidden.
  • Fixed problem where completed plans were being converted back to planned jobs.
  • Changed Jobs tab so it no longer lists plans that have been completed (these are listed only as completed jobs and not as planned jobs).
  • When record something in Farm Stock, and you’re using Farm Funds, it will give the option to enter the details into Farm Funds
  • Fixed Fertilizer and Supply Reports so they work for the entered date range. Also fixed totals and problems where some entries were duplicated.
  • Added support for printing labels with the Names & Addresses Report and fixed problems where reports sometimes did not print correctly.
  • Changed the Account Register so that it no longer lists deleted vendors.
  • Budgets from prior versions are now convert to X2
  • Changed Supply Purchase so you can enter a negative quantity with a decimal place. In the past this would round negative 1.5 to negative 2
  • Fixed problems where reports would give errors if a user had a Windows login name with a special character such as a period (.)
  • Added an option to run the “Calibrate” program from the “Tools” menu.
  • Fixed problems in Initial Setup of Equipment where rounding caused some fully depreciated equipment to get an error that depreciation was greater than the book value of the asset.
  • Fixed problems where growing crop inventory report and growing crop inventories on the accrual books were not being valued from the enterprise statements.
