Bob Wold and Kevin Pattison, Trimble’s leaders for agricultural software development, will discuss their vision of the ag software world today, including pivotal successes, key challenges and future opportunities. Mobile apps, IoT, compliance issues, and the crowded slate of startups are all working together to push the industry to evolve. They also bring challenges, such as data capture, user experience and value creation. How can the many proprietary formats and point solutions survive and succeed? How can we save people time instead of burdening them with messy connectivity issues? Are data silos an advantage or an outdated approach? How many apps will users actively engage with?

Field App Ranks Top 10 in CropLife

March 31, 2016 - The Connected Farm Field app, compatible with Farm Works Software®, received quite the praise from CropLife Magazine.  Of all the apps available in agriculture for 2016, the Connected Farm™ Field app ranked in the Top 10 in terms of productivity.

Consider in 2010 there was a “meager” 300,000 mobile apps in the Apple App Store, according to Statista Inc. That number mushroomed to 1.5 million apps in 2015 — a whopping 400% increase in just five years.

And the incredible volume of mobile apps has poured over into agriculture. With the number of farming apps available in leading app stores growing exponentially, it’s become next to impossible to successfully wade through the latest options that are helping make work more productive for ag professionals.
