Farm Works has introduced the next generation in rugged handheld units for mapping, scouting, soil sampling, or variable rate application.The Nomad features a high-resolution, sunlight-visible VGA display that shows graphics and maps in crisp detail. It has an 806 MHz processor, a long-life battery and integrated wireless capabilities like GPS, 802.11g, and Bluetooth.
The Nomad makes it easy to collect, save, and transmit data in the field with many built-in capabilities. Enjoy the convenience of integrated GPS for logging points, lines, or boundaries. Simply turn on the Nomad (with Site Mate installed) and a GPS signal is available in seconds. One of the key features of the Nomad is the 1 GB of nonvolatile flash storage. Unlike other rugged handheld units, the Nomad will never accidently remove installed software or data if the unit experiences battery failure. This usually happens when one forgets to recharge the batteries before entering the field or not use the included 12V vehicle charger. The Nomad also offers a CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SDIO) slots to add even more storage. Every option available guarantees that your data is safe and protected.
The Nomad meets the rigorous MILSTD-810F military standard for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude and extreme temperatures. It also comes with an IP67 rating. That means the Nomad is completely sealed against dust, and it can survive immersion in up to a meter of water for 30 minutes. Trimble rugged handhelds have also proven their reliability in the field with thousands of real-world users.
