Re: Importing NRCS soil maps

When I imported them in as background the Legend came up as numbers. Like "8100", "8621", "8623". And that is when I click on MuSym. The layer name came in as "soilmu_a_ks021".

I was looking for a name like Sandy Loam as an example.

Maybe I am doing it incorrectly.I right click on the field name, import background, click on soilmu_a_ks021.shp file, click on Lat/Long, and it makes the layer under the field name.
