Maps no longer skewed but now pivots are egg shaped

Kelly,
Sometimes you have to "play around" and re-calibrate a map with a different set of points. We have seen one or two occasions where one of the USGS roads or waterways was off. If this road or waterway gets used in the calibration, the result that you're seeing can occur. We've also seen that waterways are more likely to have errors than roads. So my best suggestion would be to try to recalibrate with points at different intersections.

Also, if you know the distance between two intersections, you can verify the accuracy of the USGS roads and waterways by using the Line tool to draw a line between the intersections. The distance will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. If this is wrong then one of the roads or waterways is not in the exact position. By making the roads or waterways layer the Active Layer, you can use the Edit Points Tool to fix the road or waterway.

I hope this helps!
