Layer Set-up, Soil test

Search Discussion Boards
Dale,
The suggestion of a layer template is a good one and is one we'll look into. For the time being try this:
1. Once you set up a layer for soil tests and you want to re-use it, go to the Layer Management box.
2. Right-click on the layer that you have already set up and select Copy.
3. Right-click on the folder (a category or your project that you have setup) that you want the new layer placed into and select "Paste".
4. You will now have a copy of the layer. Right-click on the new layer and select "Properties".
5. You can now change the name of the layer and add or delete any of the items being tested.
6. The only problem is that this layer will have all the data from the original layer. To fix this display only the new layer that you have set up.
7. Do a "Zoom All" and then use your Pointer Tool to click and drag and select all of the data on the layer.
8. Press the delete key on your keyboard to remove this data.

You will now have a clean new layer that is set up the same as the original layer.

I hope this helps!
