Re: Measuring acres on another layer

Search Discussion Boards
The best way to measure acres when you don't want to split a field is to:
1. Click on the field on the Main Farming layer and right-click and select Copy to Layer.
2. Add a new layer with a name such as "Measure".
3. Make sure that the layer is an "Area Layer".
4. In the area on the right enter "Size" for the Description and select "Size" for the Type.
5. If you wish to keep any other information (such as a description of what the area is for) then use the Add button to add more data fields.

You will then be able to draw the desired areas and use the Define Area button to define it (the size of the area will be displayed when you define it).

I hope this helps!
