Those confounding DLG files

Hello,

Well, the USGS site was completely open this past weekend, so
I had my first chance to download my quads. I downloaded them,
uncompressed them, and got a text file that FarmWorks didn't
know how to handle. . . Text in the file confirmed that it was
DLG data in it, but when I tried to import it into Site, Site
complained that it needed a DLG file. . .detail follows:

file name: da2_hyf04.opt.gz
- had to uncompress with 'gzip' instead of 'winzip', which
didn't know how to handle the file for some reason.

- uncompressed to da2_hyf04 - a text file, with header on first
line confirming that it contained DLG character data, then
had column after column of data separated by tabs/spaces.

FarmWorks then would not import the text file.

I know I've been bugging you guys for the last few weeks with
all kinds of questions concerning this. . . your help is
appreciated.
