Paradox Engine Configuration?

Search Discussion Boards
Kathy,
Farm Works uses a Paradox Engine for working with your data files. To use this there are certain configurations that must be set on your computer. Some other programs also use a Paradox Engine and some require lower settings than Farm Works. My bet is that you recently installed another software package that lowered these settings and thus caused problems with Farm Works. To fix this:

1. Click on the Start button and select Programs then select Farm Works Software then click on "Paradox Configuration".
2. Click on the Resource Limits button.
3. Make sure that all of the settings are at least the following:
Open Tables 32
Record Buffers 64
Record Locks 32
Open Files 128
Swap buffer Size 128
4. Click on the OK button.
5. Click on the Save to Win.ini file button.
6. Close out the Paradox Configuration box.
7. Click on the Start button again and choose Shut Down.
8. Select the option to Restart Computer.

After the computer restarts, you should be able to go into Farm Works without any problem.

Note that these changes should have absolutely no effect on any of your other programs.

I hope this helps!
