GM and Garmin GPSMap76

I spent the weekend trying GM/SM using a handheld Garmin GPSMap76 (with external antenna) to harrow cart some acres. I did so, 'cuz I didn't want to pull my AG132 with OmniStar out of the spray truck, and I had nice straight runs with some room for error.

I traveled at about 8 mph, and because the Garmin puts out a max baud rate of 4800, there was some needle lag, but once I got used to that, I had a pretty good weekend with a $250 GPS. BTW the GPS 76's are cheaper and still get WAAS, they just don't have background maps (1 meg memory vs 8 meg in the "map" version).

I wonder about the CF cards here - I seem to need an external antenna to get the WAAS - at least on the Garmin.

More FYI than anything...
