accounts receivable

I have a accounts Receivable account with a company dating back to last year. All payment received last yr transactions worked great. After doing year end, I have received 2 payment this year and when go to record them and select received on account it is blank. Go look at my Account Receivable Report and it is there. Why it is not showing up when I go to enter a sale?
