Here is the first step on how to split fields:

1. Create the new Field Name under desired Client and Farm.
2. Highlight the original field name. Go to the mapping screen, right click and select Copy.
3. Red Barn Tab, right click on new field name and select Edit Boundaries.
4. Right click on map and select Paste Addition.
5. Since this map was already split we hold down on Ctrl and highlight the map section belonging to first field only, right click and delete. Leaving just the good part of map for second field. If we did not have the field split we would use the Exclude polygon tool button and trace around the unwanted portion of map, right click and select Finish.
6. Click Save and Close.
7. Right click on map for new field and select Copy.
8. Under Red Barn Tab, right click on first field name and select Edit Boundaries. From Mapping screen, right click and select Paste Subtraction. This will leave just the map belonging to field one.
9. Click Save and Close.

Merging Fields

1. Highlight the Farm Name that contains all these fields.
2. From the Mapping screen hold down on the Ctrl key and left click on the smaller field maps.
3. Right click and Copy
4. Right click on the larger field name and select Edit Boundaries
5. Right click on the mapping screen and select Paste addition.
6. Click Save and Close

I have also attached an FAQ that may also help.

Using Copy line/polygon

Hope this helps!
