Reprint previous year payroll check

I have an employee that has an outstanding payroll check from early 2014. It was never cashed, but was on his W-2 for 2014. We are wanting to reprint it. But it needs a date more current so the bank will accept it.
If I void it and redo that payroll it messes up the 2014 and 2015 W-2's. I don't want to have to revise 2014 reports etc.
Do you have a suggestion as to how to reprint this amount?
Would it be wrong of me to just change the date in the check register, right click and print the check. Then change the date back to what it was originally? I know the check numbers will be wrong but I can live with that.
