Electronic Submission of W-2 and 1099-Misc Data

Just to give everyone a "heads up", the next release of Farm Works (2014.03) will include a new feature that will make it possible for you to electronically submit 1099-Misc and W-2 data. The release will be coming in early January (it will go out after the IRS provides the final 2014 withholding rates).

The way the process will work is that Farm Works will create a .csv file. You will then be able to go to a third party website and create an account and upload the .csv file for tax submission. The third party website will then submit the data to the required parties (IRS, SSA and participating states). They also have options where they will print and mail the forms to your employees/vendors for you.

We see a number of advantages to this system including:
- Cost savings. In many cases this system is cheaper than purchasing and mailing paper forms.
- Time Savings. Much quicker than printing, stuffing envelopes and mailing.
- Stress Reduction! I suspect most of you don't enjoy paper work (particularly government paperwork). The system is very straight forward and simple and should save you headaches!

Note that this system will work and provide benefits to all sizes of farms.

More information is available from:

Please feel free to respond to this post with any questions or comments that you have on this system.

Thanks!
