How come I can't enter information in the 1099 form (or change for that matter) like I can in the W-2 form? All of the boxes for the recipients name, address, id number are grayed out. These should be changeable just as they are in the W-2. I realize that all of this info should be entered in the properties boxes of these individuals; however, sometimes we have people entered differently when we are writing checks to them (more casually) than their proper name or exactly how their 1099 should read. Or as another example--I write checks from our partnership to my husband & I jointly for rent on the land. However, when I do 1099s I separate these figures out individually and do two separate 1099s. The way it is now I either have to write 2 checks for every draw and land rent payment which doubles the amount of checks and paperwork (from 28-30 on an avg yr to 56-60) and enter each of us individually or do these 1099s manually (which I just got away from). I know that we were able to change this info last year because I did my 1099s with the program and changed the info on each one to reflect one for myself and one for my husband. Do we know what the reasoning was behind making this change? And I wonder if anyone else has this problem. I also had one that had to go to an estate because the individual passed away this past fall. It would have been simpler to just have been able to edit the name box instead of having to exit out of the 1099 page and go into the Names and Addresses properties to edit it and then back to the 1099 page to begin again.

Just a suggestion!
