If you are running the Current Vs. then I would start by creating a new project and start restoring backups and testing the transfer, until you find a project where the crash does not happen. You will then compare the data from the current project to see what would need to be re-entered in the new project that was created. It sounds as though the data could have corruption, which could be causing the crash. If still having trouble, please call our Support Department at 800-282-4103 and the technician taking your call can setup a case and get your project data for review.
