In Farm Stock you can record more than one mating with a bull. When completing
the second or third mating, Farm Stock will remind you that a previous mating
has been recorded and ask if you would like to delete the previous mating, when it asks this
choose no. This will in turn post another mating record on the calendar. When
it comes time to preg check and you want to see the most likely candidate for the
breeding make a new report.
Start the report by selecting animal ID. Next select the links button and choose
services. Selecting the services link will make it so the next columns you add
will be linked to the servicing events. Now when you choose date it will give
you three options on how you want it linked, choose Services:Mate. Last thing
is to add a column for the Animal ID of the Bull.
When you run this new report select the heifer or heifers in question and set
the date range to what fits her preg check and you will have a list of possible
candidates for the breeding.
If you would like to have a visual way of seeing her pasture breeding time on the
calendar, make a new description under Add/Edit, Defined Events. Call the event
pasture breeding and set it for a 30 days time period. Now you can add this event to
the calendar and it will show all 30 days. You can also use the standard calendar
report and search to defined events and see any pasture breeding per heifer or
heifers.
