Still sounds as though the real Boundary layer is missing the map of boundary.

Display your layer that has the boundary as top layer. Left click on the map, right click and select Copy.
From the Tree View Listing, right click on the Field Name (green patchwork icon) and select Edit Boundaries. It may state there are Crop Enterprises do you wish to edit those, Answer Yes.
Back to the Mapping screen (tab will state Map-Editing)
Right click on the Mapping screen and select Paste Addition.
Click the Save and Close button.

Now display the Soil Test result layer and try a new view again.
