Marvin,
After re-reading my post I can see where I wasn’t really that clear in how to do things. Here’s how you can create templates, pick lists and VRA setups on your desktop and copy them to the CE Device:
1. Install a copy of Site Mate to your desktop machine.
2. Run Site Mate on your desktop computer.
3. Go into the “Configure” tab and create your pick lists.
4. If desired, go into the “Configure” tab and create your templates.
5. If desired, go into the “Configure” tab and create your VRA setups.
6. Exit out of Site Mate.
7. Dock your CE device with the desktop computer.
8. Go into Windows Explorer on your desktop computer.
9. Open up the C:Sitemate directory.
10. You will find several files with a “.ini” extension. These include “choice.ini” (which includes your pick lists), “Template.ini” (which includes your templates), and “VRTSetup.ini” (which includes your VRA set up information if you have Site Mate VRA).
11. Hold down the <CTRL> key on your keyboard and left click on each file. All files should be highlighted.
12. Right-click and select “Copy”
13. Open up the “Mobile Devices” folder (still in Windows Explorer on your desktop computer) and then open up the directory for your CE device.
14. Right-click on the “My Documents” folder and select Paste.
Doing the above allows you to create your templates, pick lists and VRA setup on your desktop, which is usually easier with a full size keyboard. It also will keep a backup of these settings on your desktop computer so you can recopy them if necessary.
Let me know if this makes sense.
