Displaying Flag Data in Site Mate

Search Discussion Boards
Roy,
Here's what to do:
1. Go to Layer Management and create a new layer. Give it a name such as "Flag Data". Make it an "Area" layer. Add one data item for "Flag Description" that is text.
2. Load the yield layer and the new "Flag Layer" with the yield layer as the "Active Layer."
3. Select the "Show Me" button and display the first flag that you will want to work with and set it to "Yes".
4. Only these points will be displayed now.
5. Move the "Flag Layer" to the "Active Layer".
6. Switch to the Mapping Tools and use a tool such as the "Freehand Tool" to circle the areas where the flags are on.
7. Use the "Define Object" tool to define each area with the appropriate description.
8. Repeat steps 2 - 7 for each flag.
9. Go to the Export box and export the "Flag Layer" as an ArcView Shape File.
10. Start Farm Site Mate and load the Shape File from Step#9 as a background layer. You can use the "Label" feature after the map has been loaded to display the flag description with each flag.

I hope this helps!
