I saw the same thing that you are talking about. Thanks so much

We are going to get an updated version of 17 and I will test it after the changes, but on the 16 version when Application default was removed, we lost that when we used the export process. When we import our job types for the event name in a fmx, we were using that application for the export process when applying product without field IQ. There is no material in implement set up on the fmx if not using Field IQ, except in event attributes and we were just creating the job to import back into FW from the fmx.

So to separate from the new spraying / spreading that require a liquid or dry material to set up implements in the fmx, there would need to be a different way to still create a job not using field IQ and allow the job to read back into FW so the job is created from the actual farming action. Spraying / spreading would be nice in the management tree for the machines to be listed under that will have a product liquid/dry to assign in the fmx for the job property in Farmworks accounting.

The next question is why remove application default for exporting job type, but leave the application in the management tree for the implement that will be exported. In the past that implement was connected to that default in the management tree when importing back into the software. It would be nice to see consistent naming in multiple areas within management tree, operations, job types etc to eliminate the confusion with all the different areas / names that are exported.

Then when importing not having the job type names change from the actual name exported from the actual farming event.

I know fw will keep working to make this better for the end users with the actual farming actions in the field to create the job properties for the recordkeeping

Thanks, Hope this makes sense since you are using some of the manual operations. But exporting and importing the jobs are nice for developing the job that was actually done or to be done in the field.
