unit cost isn't showing up in operation reports

I'm sure I've done something wrong.

I have SEVERAL inventory items (fuel, chemicals, fertilizer, seed) that were assigned a unit cost when purchased, but when applied to or used on a field- that cost isn't attributed to the field.

The operation report will show that X tractor was used on X# of acres and it will show how many gallons of fuel it used, but not the $ value of that fuel. It will show that X fl oz of chemical X was used--- but there's no value shown for that chemical.

But if you look in the item's properties... there IS an assigned cost.

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?
