The question is do you want the cost associated with this non farmed area from 2010 to roll to the 2011? If you do, you can leave that amount of acerage in Unassigned. When it gets planted in 2011 you can merge the Unassigned Crop to the 2011. If you do not want to roll costs into the 2011 Crop, then you can create a new Commodity called Non-Farmed or something of your choice. Then create the 2010 Crop Enterprise for this 2010 Non-Farmed for this Field. To remove those costs from Growing Crops, record a manual Harvest operation to this 2010 Non Farm. When the Harvest Farming screen appears, enter zero for the harvested crop and click OK. This will remove any costs from the Accrual Trial Balance and not show anything in the Harvested Crop Inventory cost since there were no bushels.

Hope this makes sense!
