I take it you've got checks from a previous year that used this series. For now your best bet is to go to the Check Register and set the date range back to when you used this series (note that you can go to the "View" menu and select "Sort by Number" to make it easier to find the checks. Even though these checks were recorded in a closed year, the program will let you change the check#. I'd suggest adding a letter to the end of these old check #s (such as changing ck# 1001 to 1001a).

I will talk to the programmers about changing the program in a future update. I think we should be able to change the error checking so it only looks at checks within the last year. That would stop this from happening again in the future.
