Separating Old Year & New Year Crop sales on the Income Statement

Willard,
You can have Old & New Year Crop sales separated on your Income Statement if you use different accounts when you set up the crops for your enterprises.

For example, normally when you plant a field you have to select the Crop Enterprise. You can select Add/Edit here to set up new enterprises. When setting up an enterprise you have to select a Crop as well as an account. If you type in a description such as "97 Corn" for the account, then this is what will be used for the Sales account as well as the inventory account. The result would be that your different years' crops would be broken out on your Income Statement.

Note that the crop enterprise may also be set up or changed by selecting Crop Setup from the Enterprises menu. If you are changing a previously set up account, you must change it before any of the crop has been harvested, otherwise the changes will not be reflected in the current harvested crops.

Another method for finding this amount is to go to the Trial Balance and click on the folder next to the Sales account for the crop. Alternately you can print an enterprise statement and use the Show Me button to list only the enterprises for the crop and year that you want and then select all enterprises to get a combined statement that will give you total sales.

I hope this helps!
