In order to move a whole section of your map you'll need to first:
1. Make a backup of your project before you do this. This is just in case you make a mistake or if things don't work out as planned.
2. Delete all of the objects that cross this line (the line where you need to cut the fields and move them). When deleting you will be asked if you want to delete lines and/or objects, be sure to only delete Lines.
3. Next use the line tool to make two lines that go across your entire map. The lines should be at the top and bottom of the section that you want to get rid of (the 1/4 mile section in your example). You can use the horizontal or vertical tools to make the line straight across the screen.
4. Next use the pointer tool to click and drag to form a rubber-band that encloses the two lines you drew as well as everything in between. Then press the Delete key on your keyboard to delete everything.
5. Next use the Pointer Tool to select the bottom section of the map. Turn on the Vertical Tool and drag the bottom part up until it is lined up with the top part.
6. Redefine each of the objects you deleted. If an object does not define it is because there is a gap where the two sections didn't meet exactly. Use the Corner or Tee Tools to get rid of these gaps (click around the boundaries of the field with the corner tool to corner up all sides).

You should also note that you can override the calculated acreage of each field. If you don't mind having your map being off, then use the Define Object Tool and click on the fields and change the acreage.

I hope that this helps!
