Farm Trac has been designed to keep track of different farming actions such as chemical and fertilizer applications as well as tillage and harvest information. The program provides a Notations area that has detailed records of dates as well as equipment and supplies used. It also provides a Field History report with summaries and chemical reports with chemical records. As far as mapping goes, Farm Trac has been designed to provide basic, single layer maps that represent the current status of a field (in most cases the map indicates if a field is planted, harvested or a tillage practice, as well as what crop is or was in the field.
With Farm Trac you can get a history of what herbicides were used on what dates by right-clicking on a field and viewing "Notations" on a field.

Farm Site can be added to Farm Trac to give you an unlimited number of layers of different mapping information. Layers can be used for showing crops for each year as well as tillage practices and different chemicals or fertilizers that are used. In addition, with Farm Site you can use patterns with transparent backgrounds for layers. This allows you to "stack" multiple layers on the screen at once to "see through" the top layer to layers below.

Farm Site also gives you the ability to map features such as tiling lines, soil types and soil test results. Site is also GPS based and can work with USGS road and waterway maps as well as yield maps from most yield monitors.
