We are using an older Panasonic scanner that is black-and-white only. We always scan at 100 DPI, but the scanner supports up to 300 DPI. It sounds as though the HP scanner is really intended only as a reader for FAX documents, so it probably doesn't have the quality or the gray resolution that a dedicated flatbed scanner would have. You probably can't get the kind of quality we can with that scanner. We'll scan your maps for $2.00/page plus $8.00 per order handling.
