yield monitor with mobile on JD 9650

Looking to add yield monitor to a JD 9650 walker combine. I can get the hardware for just over $2000 to put on the combine, all John Deere parts that way and it is already wired for it. Problem is a 2600 monitor to map the information is $4250. Anyone used mobile and a laptop to map from John Deere sensors. I will be using the older style that mounts on the side of the elevator.

Re: yield monitor with mobile on JD 9650

Problem is we most offten don't have scale tickets that you can put back a certain field out here. Offten to far from evelators to haul from the field so we store the wheat in bins. Bins get wheat from more than one field. I know of people that try to keep good track of grain in bins and which fields it came from. With temporary help that we get for harvest they have always forgot a load here and there and it gets all messed up. In order to keep good records I really need a grain cart with a scale and or good yield monitoring with good mapping records. I may have to simply wait another year for yield monitoring so I can afford it.

Thank you,
Lance

Even if you could get the JD Data to send into Mobile, you are still at the mercy of how things are setup/calibrated from the Yield Monitor. Let me know if you want more details on how to setup a Field Record Job for harvest.

If I can put direct into mobile with jobs that I have created then I have a managable system. If not, the data is a mess that I do not hav ethe time to sort out. I will have other people running my combine over half the time. They are young computer literate people that are very teachable. If I tell them to store the field with the old brown box it WILL be a mess and a fight. They can and will use a computer or handheld to do this. If they can see what is being mapped they can tell much easier if there is a problem or not with the hwo the data is being recorded. Plus this is only my second year of farming on my own and can not afford a very expensive system if I can make this work.

Lance
