I had a loan that was interest free for the first year, I 'd like to allocate the payment to the piece of equipment, but when I put the payment in it says invalid amount because there is nothing in the interest expense box. If I do not allocate the payment, it is fine without the interest expense. Is there a way around the interest? It is not possible to allocate an actual payment, the only thing possible to allocate is the interest of the payment, which is why it will allow you to post the payment without allocating, or you would be able to allocate if you filled in a value for the interest.
